LOST CIVIC SENSE AMONG THE PEOPLE OF GUNTUR TOWN

Image
In front of the Relax Cafe, a tea and tiffin hotel near the Vikas Inn on the road towards the RTA Office in Guntur. Vehicles, including the autorickshaws of the tea sippers, occupied half of the road. The Municipal Workers unloaded on the other half of the road red mud meant for the plants on the road divider. The authorities neglected their duties. The citizens forgot their civic sense. Commuters are facing problems. A decade ago, Guntur was declared the only good town. A year ago, it was awarded one of the two best towns in Andhra Pradesh.

NEET SCAM

Image
Making over the conduction of NEET, NET, etc., to private institutions, fewer seats in the professional colleges, fewer jobs, and the greed of the double-engine BJP Governments are the causes of increased educational scams.  Congress governments didn't fully implement the recommendations of the Kothari, Yashpal, Anil Sadgopal, etc. Education Reforms Commissions. Indira Gandhi approached TATAs and Ambanis for improving the education. They, for their necessities, commercialized the education. Then the WTO was imposed. It totally corporatised the education. Teachers' and Students' Unions also kept quiet when the nonscientific EAMSET was introduced. Private Educational Institutions minted money through coaching centers and intermediate education. Now, NEP 2020, guided by Italian Gentile Reforms, Dinanath Batra, and Bhagwan Ramdev, is corrupting and saffronising the Indian Education System.

Misuse of roads

Image
The "Best" utility of our roads, (2/1 Chandramaouli Nagar, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, today, on 17th May 2026), the national property by the education mafia that led to scams like Vyapam in Madhya Pradesh, and NEET India-wide.

MUSSOLINI ELECTED TO PARLIAMENT

Image
In the Italian General Election on 15 May 1921, in which Benito Mussolini was elected for the first time to Parliament, the National Bloc, including the fascists' 35 seats, won 105 seats but not a majority in a chamber of 535 seats.  The Italian general election on 15.5.1921 produced a fragmented parliament. Giovanni Giolitti’s centrist bloc remained influential. Socialists lost seats, but remained the single largest left. The newly organized Fascists made a small (35 seats) but politically consequential showing. The Italian People's Party (Catholic popularists) increased its presence. Giolitti formed a coalition relying on diverse centrist and right‑leaning groups. Fascists' role in coalitions and control of street violence helped them convert a small parliamentary presence into growing political power with a rapid rise in 1921–22. The Communists (split from the Socialists) held a small number of Deputies (15).

BULDOZERS IN KOLKATA

Image
The giant excavator left Tiljala on 15th May, 2026. The Muslims of Kolkata breathed.   Calcutta High Court, on 15th May 2026, ordered an interim stay on the Demolition Drive executed by Suvendu Adhikari, the BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal, for two days without any consultation with the owners and occupants. Residents felt happy with the removal of the Bulldozers. They were allowed to collect their left-out belongings only in the presence of the police personnel.

YOGI - MODI - ADHIKARI

Image
"Maha Kali Mardan" in Kolkata. Buildings of Muslims being bulldozed in a demolition drive by the West Bengal BJP Government on 13th May 2026.  Suvendu Adhikari was one of the prime leaders of TMC. He was deeply involved in the Sarada Scam. Caught red-handed. Heckled dramatically by Modi. But on joining the BJP, he is purified and sanctified by the Modipure Mantra. He, as W. Bengal CM, got disconnected power and water supplies in Muslim areas of Kasba, Tiljala, Mominpore, and Ekbalpore. A fire (by one nation one religion formulators) in Tiljala on 12.5.2026, killed two labourers and injured three. On 13.5.2026, Adhikari got bulldozed buildings housing factories in these Muslim locations. He is following Yogi's law and Modi's culture. Bengal's civilization once connected hearts, culture, and communities, reinforcing unity, pride, and a shared sense of belonging. Now!?

SOMNATH TEMPLE

Image
Another mega religious event, by the fascist Modi Government, at the cost of public money, not only for the three-day event but also for the advertisements of crores of rupees, for future electoral gains.  Can the Deity of any religion be a symbol of India's indomitable civilization, as propagated by the far-right Modi Govt? How can a temple be an embodiment of pride and courage? Mentioning Patel as the key rebuilder of Somnath (Punya bhumi!?), and Modi as its perpetuator, is only to polarise "Hindus". It is boasted that Somnath taught that creation (not construction) is superior to destruction. Then why was the Babri Mosque demolished? Should we consider the construction/ reconstruction of temples by the Govt to be superior to building institutions of education, health, research, etc? Are temples, without which we can live, our heritage?

ADOLF HITLER'S DEPUTY FUHRER RUDOLF HESS

Image
Nazy Leader, and Adolf Hitler's Deputy (Führer), Rudolf Hess. On 10 May 1941, he escaped to Britain, parachuting into Scotland, without the knowledge or approval of boss Hitler, to open secret (peace) negotiations with the British.  Rudolf Hess was born to German parents in Alexandria, Egypt, on 26.4.1894. He fought in World War I. Earned the Iron Cross for his service. After the war, Hess joined the Nazi Party in 1920. Quickly became one of Hitler's closest associates. In 1923, he participated in the failed Beer Hall Putsch with Hitler. In prison, Hess helped Hitler in writing Mein Kampf in 1925. As Hitler rose to power, Hess's influence grew. He was appointed Deputy Führer in 1933. Hess signed many important documents, including the Nuremberg Laws in 1935. These codified racial discrimination against Jews. In 1941, Hess escaped to Scotland to negotiate peace with Britain. He was captured by British forces. After World War II, Hess was tried at Nuremberg, found guilty of...

THE FIRST NEWSPAPER POLITICAL CARTOON

Image
The first newspaper political cartoon published in the United States was "The Pennsylvania Gazette on 9th May, 1754. It depicts the first letter of the states on the broken pieces of a snake. It was published by Benjamin Franklin, the then President of America, with the caption "Join or Die". Commissioned by Benjamin Franklin and attributed to silversmith James Turner, the "Join or Die" political cartoon was initially created during the French and Indian War and reused to encourage American colonies to join the Albany Plan for Union. It depicted a snake cut into segments. Each abbreviation represented the American colonies. A popular superstition held that a snake cut into pieces could come back to life if its segments were rejoined before sunset. The colonies depicted are Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and New England (New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut). Absent is Del...

GERMANY'S SURRENDER TO THE ALLIED POWERS

Image
May 8,  1945,  is the Victory in Europe Day. Germany's General Wilhelm Keitel, on 8 May 1945, formally signed the final unconditional surrender of Germany to the Allies in the ruins of Berlin, ending World War II in Europe.  World War II ended twice. On 7.5.1945, in a small red brick schoolhouse in the French town of Reims, German rep Alfred Jodl signed the instrument of unconditional surrender for the Nazi High Command. This wasn't accepted by the USSR. It wanted a full, final signing in the German capital by its leading general, Georgy Zhukov. D.D. Eisenhower, the supreme Allied commander, agreed. The final signing was set for May 8. In the ruins of Berlin, Wilhelm Keitel, Hans-Georg von Friedeburg, and Hans-Jürgen Stumpff signed for Germany. Due to Political and diplomatic haggling, the Allies didn't sign the document till 1:00 AM on 9 May. It was backdated to 8 May. Victory in Europe Day is celebrated twice. The West on 8 May. The USSR on 9 May.

DOCTOR KARL MARX

Image
May 05 is the birth anniversary of Doctor Karl Marx, the world's famous socialist, economist, writer, and baptised German Jew. He is to be remembered especially in India, which, under pro-corporate religiosity fascism, accumulated wealth at one pole, and chained the society with various dangerous bonds at another pole.  Study theories of Marxism. Integrate them into real-world action. Dialectical and historical materialism should be the philosophical foundation. Marx and Engels derived their ideas from class struggles, stressing that theory must arise from and return to practice. Lenin applied it, uniting workers and oppressed nations. Study the Communist Manifesto, Capital, and Lenin's State and Revolution, stressing dialectics, surplus value, and class struggle. If you can't study, hear from those studied, organise, and link Marxism to current conditions, and internalize materialist dialectics. Avoid dogmatism. Treat Marxism as a living guide. Join unions, lead workplac...

BRITAIN'S FIRST GENERAL STRIKE

Image
Britain Trade Union Council called for the country's first general strike on 3 May 1926. Volunteers sabotaged the strike. Workers walked to their workplaces.  Britain's first and only General Strike began on 3.5.1926. It was called by the Trade Union Council in support of coal miners. Their wages were to be reduced by 13%, and working hours were to be increased from 7 to 8 hours. 17.5 lakh workers went on strike, with the slogan: “Not a minute on the day, not a penny off the pay.” The strike divided the society. Some of London's buses, trams, trains and delivery vans were run by non-unionised workers and students. The transport network was crippled. Cars choked the roads. Police bet strikers. Conservative PM Stanley Baldwin said, "I am a man of peace. But won't surrender the safety and security of the Constitution. The Roman Catholic Church branded the strike a sin. The army escorted food lorries. Newspapers appeared in brief form. To spread the government’s mess...

HITLER BANNED TRADE UNIONS

Image
Dissolution activities of Trade Unions by Adolf Hitler in Germany on Second May 1933. On 1933 May Day, Hitler posed himself as the First Worker of the State (as Modi called himself the Prime Servant), honoured the youth. But the next day, he banned the Trade Unions.  On 2.5.1933, Hitler planned the nationwide dissolution of independent trade unions, months after he became Chancellor. SA stormtroopers (paramilitary blue shirts to enforce Nazi ideology) and police raided union offices, seized assets, arrested leaders, and dismantled organisations of workers. The action followed a manipulated May Day celebration, prompted by Nazis as a show of national unity. Union funds, workers' dues were confiscated, leaders were beaten, imprisoned, or sent to early camps like Dachau, and strikes were banned. In their place, Hitler created the German Labour Front (DAF) under Robert Ley (a Nazi politician), a state body merging workers and employers to enforce Nazi policies. It outlawed colle...

SOMNATH TEMPLE - MODI'S PROPAGATION

CAN WE DARE TO WISH THEM "HAPPY MAY DAY"?

Image
Besides men, women of all ages work hard in India. Only the nature of work differs. "Man" culture is a natural gift. Can we dare to wish them "Happy May Day"? The governments of the day don't support the workers. Propagate MNCs as wealth producers. Make laws not to make workers live, but to promote Corporations with the principles of quid pro quo. We, the friends of the workers, at least in the fascist regime, do not, in general, help labourers, resist the anti-working-class attitude of the Govts. We don't unite because we have many things to lose. The sophisticated society provided facilities and conveniences of civilised poverty, egos, pro-working-class, courtesy-biased feudal mentality. We don't tolerate gender equality, at least in the workplace. Hence, the far-right and the pro-right rulers come to power perpetually, now mostly by cheating.
