BEIJING JINGTAI PRIMARY SCHOOL

Beijing Jingtai Primary School is a public school in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. Jingtai was the Ming Dynasty Emperor. He reined China between 1449 and 1457. Jingtai means exalted view, brilliant grandness, and prosperous peace. This school is supervised by the Beijing City Dongcheng District Education Committee, which oversees educational institutions in the area. The school serves students aged 6 to 12, following China’s standard primary education system, which spans six years. Like other public primary schools in Beijing, it adheres to the national curriculum set by the Ministry of Education, focusing on core subjects such as Chinese, mathematics, and physical education, with additional classes in music, art, and basic sciences. English is introduced as a foreign language from third grade. The school is part of Beijing’s compulsory education system, which is recognized internationally for its high performance. For instance, in the 2018 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Beijing’s 15-year-olds, alongside peers from Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, outperformed students from 78 other participating countries in math, reading, and science. The school is near cultural landmarks like the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. It benefits from the district’s urban infrastructure and educational resources. As a public school, tuition is free. Parents may pay small fees for books, transportation, or incidental costs.
