MONUMENT IN TIANANMEN SQUARE, BEIJING, CHINA

 


Monument to the people's heroes. This is a granite Pillar in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. This commemorates the martyrs of the revolutionary struggles. Tiananmen (heavenly peace) Square is the biggest city center square in the world covering 44 hectares in the heart of Beijing, China. The Mao Mausoleum, the People's Monument, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Museum are here. Here, history-changing events and ceremonies occurred. From 15.4.1989 to 4.6.1989, students demonstrated here protesting the death of Hu Yaobang, a reformist leader. The People's Liberation Army violently crushed this movement. Tiananmen Square is the Holy Land in the hearts of the Chinese people and is the heart of great China.
