RAILWAY SYSTEM IN CHINA

Passengers are allowed into the railway station before 2 hours and into the platform before 20 minutes of the scheduled time. Trains halt for at least 7 minutes. One-minute halts like in India are not scheduled. There is no weight limit to the luggage. Bags are scanned. Some items are not allowed. For some allowed items weight is limited. Sufficient seats and excellent toilets of all types, including for the physically challenged, are available. Railway Stations are provided with well-equipped medical clinics. These Railway Stations are better than our international airports. No unreserved coaches. Trains are air-conditioned. Heaters are provided during winter. Various trains like soft-sleeper, 3-tier, sitting coaches, and coupes with four berths capacity, with different classes of coaches are available. Trains run exactly on time without delay for a second. They run at 250 k.m.p.h. speed without jerks. Train tracks are mostly through tunnels cutting the mountains. One platform attendant and one coach attendant help the travelers in boarding the train. No hawkers on the platforms. Limited vendors roam inside the train. Uniformed attendants help in placing the luggage and in providing facilities to the passengers. Waste, placed in plastic bags at the seats, is collected by the attendants frequently duly keeping a new bag. Dust bins are provided at the end of the coaches. The toilets are maintained neatly. Upcoming statins are shown by digital display and informed by the attendants.
