The Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm is Sweden's largest museum of nature. Founded in 1819 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The exhibits had been collected since 1739. The Museum was opened in 1786. Became independent from the Academy in 1965. With one crore specimens, it is a leading research institute in geosciences, paleobiology, zoology, botany, mycology, and bioinformatics. The museum has 10 parts. Fossil and Evolution have life-size dinosaur skeletons with Earth’s ancient history. The Human Journey traces 70 lack years of human evolution. World of Water has marine ecosystems and the role of water in life. Biodiversity with Sweden’s flora and fauna. The Polar Region shows Arctic and Antarctic environments. Swedish Nature has pine forests, mountains, coastal ecosystems with wildlife. Cosmonova, Sweden’s only IMAX dome and planetarium, shows 3D science films and astronomy shows. Exhibits attract the kids.
