PRETRIAL PUNISHMENT UNDER STATE'S NARRATION

66 months' jail without trial. Judiciary upheld the State's Narration, played wait game. Pretrial punishment became normal under the guise of national security.

Political activists, journalists, and students by questioning, protesting and activities protect democracy, constitutional provisions, and lead to good governance. Laws shouldn't be misapplied to silence voices of dissent. UAPA broke constitutional provisions of justice, liberty, and dignity. The right to question authority leads to indefinite imprisonment. The constitutional principle of innocent until proven guilty, is inverted. Dramatically, the accused must prove the accusation is not prima facie true. Refusal of bail, punishment without conviction violate the right to live, and lead to loss of faith in the judicial system.
