The "Homeless Fox" statue, titled Rag and Bone, is a poignant bronze sculpture by British artist Laura Ford, installed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2008. Depicting a fox and its cub huddled under tattered blankets, it symbolizes the plight of the homeless, evoking empathy and reflection. Originally placed near Drottninggatan and Strömgatan, close to a bridge in central Stockholm, it was chosen by readers of 'Situation Stockholm', a local homeless newspaper, for its prominent location near the parliament building to highlight social issues. The statue is often surrounded by coins left by passersby, reflecting its emotional impact on locals and tourists and reminding the people's representatives of their duties and responsibilities. The sculpture’s setting amid Stockholm’s vibrant streets enhances its message, inviting contemplation of urban life’s contrasts.

  Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is named one of the 25 Greatest Global Living Indians by NDTV Channel, India on 14 December 2013.   Venkatraman   Ramakrishnan is an Indian-born British-American structural biologist best known for his work on the structure and function of ribosomes, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009. He won this award together with Thomas A. Steitz  an American biochemist  and Ada E. Yonath  an Israeli (lady) Crystallographer  "for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome." Ramakrishnan was born on 01 April 1952 in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India. He studied physics at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and obtained a Ph.D. in physics from Ohio University in 1976.
