THE KU KLUX KLAN IN AMERICA
The Ku Klux Klan in the USA, is shortly called Klan. Members are enrolled in the Klan with slogans to fight Communism and disrupt unity on religion.
The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is a white supremacist hate group founded in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee, by Confederate veterans. It targeted African Americans, Jews, Catholics, and other minorities through violence, intimidation, and terrorism to enforce white dominance. It first (1865–1870s) opposed Reconstruction, secondly (1915–1944) expanded nationwide with millions of members. From 2024, the KKK remains active but diminished, with 5,000–8,000 members across 110 chapters in the U.S. The KKK collaborated with other white supremacist organizations, like Aryan Freedom Network, and antisemitic Christian Identity groups. It works for anti-immigration and nationalist rhetoric in the context of recent political shifts. The group’s activities today are rallies, propaganda, and online recruitment, exploiting social tensions around immigration and diversity. The KKK’s violence and hate pose a challenge.
