"We Want Pockets" campaign is grassroot, and social media movement advocating for practical, functional pockets in women's apparel. It highlights the pocket inequality. Women's clothing features shallow, tiny, or fake pockets. This disparity forces women to rely on handbags. In the 17th and 18th centuries, women used detachable pocket bags. By 20 th century, suffragist Alice Duer Miller satirized anti-suffrage. The #WeWantPockets hashtag exploded in the late 2010s. In 2025, 10-year-old Evie Bladey from England in her letter, "Girls need to carry things too!" sparked action. As of September 2025, the BBC highlighted pocketed garments.
