WORLD'S FIRST PHOTOGRAPH
August 19 is World Photography Day. This is the World's First Photograph of a man. The French Government published the Photographic process in Paris, free to the world as a gift, on 19 August 1839.
In 1838, Louis Daguerre used daguerreotype photography to snap a photo of the Boulevard du Temple in Paris. The streets in the photo appear deserted. The exposure time for the photo was so long that the cars and trams could not be captured. Only a man having his shoes shined and the shoeshiner were motionless enough to be caught. This is the first photograph of a person. The Daguerreotype was the first process of photography, announced in 1839. For the following 20 years, it was the most common process. Louis Daguerre demonstrated his 'daguerreotype' photographic process to the French Academy of Sciences on 19.8.1839.
