"GODS ON THE ROADS"

 


Ayyappa Temple on the Pattabhipuram Ring Road, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. How can a road be sacred and a place of worship? Many menstruating women pass by this celibacy "God". When he tplerates them here, why can't he in Sabarimalai? This temple board has an advertisement polluting the sanctity of the "God". 


"Goddess" Mahankali on the Ring Road, Pattabhipuram, Guntur. Officers and politicians can't bear speed breakers on the roads. How can the public bear this permanent hurdle? This temple board also became polluted by an advertisement for a jewellery shop on it. 


A mosque was constructed recently on the Ring Road, Pattabhipuram, in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The site may be of the "God". He should have kept in mind the traffic hurdles. How did the Guntur Municipal Corporation permit it? The RSS and BJP, when they get independent power in Andhra Pradesh, will accord it a fate like that of the Babri Mosque, Muslim houses and shops in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, etc.

VENKATRAMAN RAMAKRISHNAN

  Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is named one of the 25 Greatest Global Living Indians by NDTV Channel, India on 14 December 2013.   Venkatraman   Ramakrishnan is an Indian-born British-American structural biologist best known for his work on the structure and function of ribosomes, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009. He won this award together with Thomas A. Steitz  an American biochemist  and Ada E. Yonath  an Israeli (lady) Crystallographer  "for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome." Ramakrishnan was born on 01 April 1952 in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu, India. He studied physics at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and obtained a Ph.D. in physics from Ohio University in 1976.
